Light - Colour study.

Image
An experimentation of the effects of light and light sources on colour. Finding a good palette of colours is a big time process. It depends on light, medium, and even light since day light can play a vital role in colour changes. Here is a panel of photos which takes us through colour exploration in discrete colour mediums. Light shows magical effects with colours and here are few observations. A white dress/ background in different coloured LED lights gives tint effects. These photographs were captured after 6pm in the evening so that no external light influences its colours. Pictures captures in different light sources gave exciting results. We get a mix of both. Red in bluish light gave colours nearer to purple. None of the lights gave the actual colour of the dress. Again in day light between morning 7-9am gave the original colours. Probably this is the reason why cinematography and shooting are all carried out during this time of the day. Some tries with coloured glass paper...

Colour wheel

Image
It takes several attempts to make one perfect colour wheel. Something I learnt from here is that things which seems simple mostly are the most difficult ones to put together into. A perfect colour wheel is made from cobalt blue, chrome yellow and poster red alone. A slight change in proportion destroys the entire wheel. We mic primary colours to create secondary colours and further secondary colours to make tertiary colours. Making things in one direction is the best way to start for example taking blue and yellow and if we add slight blue to yellow we get lime, a bit more of blue might give green and so one till it doesn't give any new colour. In my 10th attempt a good a perfect colour wheel meeting my level of satisfaction and calibre. The process.. Starting with primary colours Making swatches cutting out the best and neat swatches arranging to check the uniformity of colour change. Failed attempts on a colour wheel. ATTEMPT 1 : The brush strokes are visible and non uniform shi...

Living elements.

Image
There are different techniques we can use to sketch living elements. Some of the skills are important in this case of sketching. Observation, knowing the proportion, knowing the texture, colour palette everything plays their particular role. Nature sketching is way different than any other types of sketching. Here we don't always rely on perspective or orthogonal theories. Observation matters more. Most of the classic arts contains living elements in it. Hand gestures

Object drawing

A slight peek through my window heals it all.. How about painting a paint?! To start our day with. BRUSH. Now we need a brand name for that. Suggest names!  Everything is a calculation. Really can't miss this one in any of my days. A bird chirps, cat meows and a mouse clicks .
