Light - Colour study.

An experimentation of the effects of light and light sources on colour.Finding a good palette of colours is a big time process. It depends on light, medium, and even light since day light can play a vital role in colour changes. Here is a panel of photos which takes us through colour exploration in discrete colour mediums. Light shows magical effects with colours and here are few observations.

A white dress/ background in different coloured LED lights gives tint effects. These photographs were captured after 6pm in the evening so that no external light influences its colours.

Pictures captures in different light sources gave exciting results. We get a mix of both. Red in bluish light gave colours nearer to purple. None of the lights gave the actual colour of the dress. Again in day light between morning 7-9am gave the original colours. Probably this is the reason why cinematography and shooting are all carried out during this time of the day.

Some tries with coloured glass papers.

It gave a mix of colours of glass paper and frame. The effects were clearly visible. In photography we sometimes use a rainbow coloured umbrella to add on the effects. Probably this is how the colour balance is adjusted. Could apply whatever learnings I had gathered from making a colour wheel, the mixing, the blend.

Experimentation - Adjustment of white balance on Camera.

Results - Notable differences in colour and brightness. Same duration of the day looked darker in some frames.

Tint

Adding on white to a colour creates a tint and adding on black to a hue creates a shade.
